POKOTABI / Tsuzuraya
立ち呑み酒場つづらや
Just outside the west exit of Yatsuka Station on the Tobu Skytree Line, Tsuzuraya serves a tempting range of small plates, from beef tendon simmered with salt to iburigakko with cheese and eel liver. It’s an easy-going standing bar where solo diners can drop in for a drink.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Just outside Yatsuka Station’s west exit, Tsuzuraya is a standing bar for an unhurried drink whenever the mood strikes. The first dish to catch the eye on the menu is the house favourite, beef tendon simmered with salt. Cooked until tender while retaining a pleasingly firm texture, it makes a satisfying companion to that first glass.
There’s plenty beyond the stew, too, with small plates that hit the spot for a drink. Iburigakko—smoked daikon pickle—with cheese brings together savoury richness and a fragrant smokiness, while eel liver pairs well with a highball. Freshly fried chicken and deep-fried baby corn make easy snacks, and horse sashimi is an option when you fancy something a little more indulgent.
Drinks include classic white and black Hoppy, green tea highballs, sours and highballs. With 2 televisions inside, the atmosphere also suits a quiet solo drink at your own pace. The bar opens from 15:00 in the evening on all days except Tuesday, making it a handy first stop for an early drink.
